The deep pain that is felt at the death of every friendly soul arises from the feeling that there is in every individual something which is inexpressible, peculiar to him alone, and is, therefore, absolutely and irretrievably lost.
Arthur Schopenhauer, German philosopher
Losing someone that you love or care about deeply is every painful. The more significant the relationship, the more intense the feelings of grief. The feelings of pain and sadness are normal responses to a loss.
You may have lost a neighbor, a co worker, your “best friend” or an acquaintance. The feelings of grief you have are very personal. Everyone grieves differently. How you grieve and how you recover will depend on you.. your personality, your cultural background.
Losing a friend will leave a void in your heart, in your life. You will miss the things you did together, things you talked about, secrets you shared. You may miss seeing their smile or the advice they offered.
Losing someone close to you, may force you to consider your own mortality. You have been forever changed.
