The Caregiver Stress Test 3: Finding Balance
Caregiver stress can show up as feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure how long you can keep up with current demands. This printable self-reflection worksheet helps subscribers notice patterns in caregiver strain and prepare for a conversation about support.
What this stress test covers
The 22 questions ask how often caregiving affects your time, relationships, health, finances, privacy, and sense of control. Responses use a 0–4 scale; the worksheet totals them from 0 to 88, with a higher total suggesting greater self-reported strain.
This Caregiver Relief worksheet uses question types based on the Zarit Burden Interview; it is not the original copyrighted interview and should not be treated as a validated diagnostic test. It cannot diagnose burnout, anxiety, depression, or any other condition.
How to use your result
Use the total as a prompt to reflect on what feels hardest and what support may help. If stress is affecting your health, safety, sleep, mood, or ability to provide care, consider discussing it with a qualified health professional or trusted care-team member. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call local emergency services.
